La mayoría de los cuartos limpios, utilizan filtros de partículas de alta eficiencia (HEPA Filters) para limpiar el aire. Estos filtros de alta eficiencia, emplean fibras para capturar las partículas, en tres modalidades diferentes.
La primera, utiliza las fibras para interceptar a las partículas, El segundo metodo, es la impactacion, en la cual las particulas, siguen el flujo de aire y se impactan contra las fibras. Finalmente el metodo de Difusión, la dirección del flujo de aire, evita que las partículas muy pequeñas avancen pero no las detienen, sino que son forzadas a permanecer en la corriente de aire del filtro.
